The Legal Process of Getting Married

Your wedding ceremony does not get you married. What?!? You heard right, your wedding ceremony only will not make you legally married. Instead, your marriage license and the signatures from your two witnesses and a registered officiant, do. What does this mean?

  1. You can get legally married without the expense and head-aches of organizing a big shindig, if that’s your thing. It’s not only allowed, it’s also less expensive. Not mother approved.

  2. You can have your ceremony whenever circumstances are best. This flexibility can mean an ailing parent or grandparent can see you get married, or if one of you is enlisted in the military you can reduce timing stress.
